Adjust the steering wheel to correct alignment.
5.
Refer to GTR section 211-04: Steering Column operation 57.60.01 and install the steering wheel.
6.
Refer to GTR section 501-20B: Supplemental Restraint System operation 76.73.39 and install the Driver Air Bag Module from the steering wheel.
7.
Raise the vehicle on a suitable lift.
8.
Install the vehicle undertray.
9.
Road test the vehicle to confirm the steering wheel alignment is within the +/- 3° tolerance, when driving straight ahead on a level surface, and that
the vehicle steering alignment is correct.
NOTE:
Any other steering alignment repairs are to be carried out as a separate Warranty Claim. Vehicle geometry machine print outs from before and
after any steering alignment adjustments are to be submitted with warranty claim.
10.
If the steering wheel is straight and level, and the vehicle does not track correctly during the road test, perform the following:

Reset the front individual toe to specification relative to the rear axle thrust line while maintaining the straight steering wheel position (i.e.
Four-wheel alignment).
^
Road test the vehicle to confirm the steering wheel alignment is within the +/- 3° tolerance when driving straight ahead on a level surface, and
that the vehicle alignment is correct.
11.
Raise an Electronic Product Quality Report (EPQR) with the following information:
^
Photographic evidence of the alignment error, where possible.
^
Details as to the extent of steering wheel misalignment that was corrected.
^
An indication of the degree of initial steering wheel misalignment by stating the degree that corresponds most accurately to the misalignments
(6°, 12°, 18° or 24°) illustrated in Figure 2.
