Tilt Wheel Motor: Service and Repair

Steering Column Tilt Motor 

Removal 

WARNING:  WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE BEFORE STARTING WORK, BECAUSE THE AIR BAG HAS A BACK-UP POWER
SOURCE AND MAY BE INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. 

1. Remove the battery cover.

Disconnect the battery ground cable.

3. Remove the air bag module.

4. Remove the steering wheel.

5. Remove the underscuttle.

6. Disconnect the tilt motor potentiometer multiplug.

Release the multiplug from the mounting bracket.

-

Disconnect the multiplug.
