Front Cross-Member Bushing: Service and Repair

Crossbeam - Front Mounting Bush

Removal 

1. CAUTION:  Replacement of nuts and bolts: Various thread-locking devices are used on nuts and bolts throughout the vehicle. These devices

restrict the number of times a nut or bolt can be used. 

Remove crossbeam. 

2. Using a hydraulic press, remove front mounting bush from the crossbeam.

Place special tool on the press-bed, with the tool cut-outs upper most.
Position crossbeam on press-bed, with special tool aligned underneath bush.
Align special tool on top of bush.
Operate press to remove bush from crossbeam.

Installation 

1. NOTE:  The bush must be in the position shown when it is fitted to the crossbeam - viewed from the top of the crossbeam.

Invert the crossbeam and place it, onto the bed of the hydraulic press.
