Accelerator Cable, Return Spring, Injector Connector

Disconnect and remove the throttle cable, the return spring, and the fuel injector wire harness connector. Compress the lock tabs, and lift up to
release the connector.
Throttle Body Removal

Identify and tag the vacuum hoses at the back of the throttle body, for future reference, then remove the hoses, and vacuum tubes from the throttle
body. For automatic transmission vehicles, disconnect both Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) wire connectors, and for manual transmission vehicles
disconnect the single TPS wire connector.

Remove the throttle body to manifold mounting nuts, and remove the throttle body. Clean the throttle body, and intake manifold surfaces, and
remove all old gasket materials.
INSTALLATION
1.
Using a new gasket, install the throttle body assembly on the intake manifold, and torque the mounting nuts to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft)
2.
Connect all vacuum hoses to the back of the throttle body, refer to Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction
/Diagrams/Vacuum and Vapor Hose for locations, and connect the fuel supply and return tubes.
3.
Connect the TPS connectors, and the ISA motor. Connect the fuel injector wire harness.
4.
Install the accelerator cable and its return spring. Install the lower bonnet assembly, and tighten the retaining nuts securely.
5.
Install the upper bonnet assembly, and reconnect the battery negative terminal. Torque the battery terminal to 8.5 Nm (6.3 lb-ft).
NOTE: If the throttle body was replaced with a new unit, and/or the TPS and ISA motor were removed, they must be adjusted after reinstallation or
replacement. Refer to ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES for the correct procedure.
