Engine Mount: Service and Repair
Rear Mount
ENGINE REAR MDUNT
A resilient rubber cushion supports the transmission at the rear between the transmission extension housing and the rear support crossmember (Fig.2).
Removal
(1) Disconnect the battery negative cable.
(2) Raise the vehicle and support the transmission.
(3) Remove the rear engine mount cushion-to-cross- member nuts and bolts. Remove the crossmember-toframe retaining nuts and bolts.
(4) Remove the crossmember.
(5) Remove the rear engine mount cushion-to-support bracket nuts.
(6) Remove the rear engine mount cushion.
Installation
(1) Attach the rear engine mount cushion-to-support bracket. Tighten the nuts to 43 N.m (32 ft-lbs) torque.
(2) Jnstall the crossmember. Tighten the nuts and bolts to 41 N.m (30 ft-lbs) torque.
(3) Justall the rear engine mount cushion-to-cross- member retaining nuts. Tighten the retaining nuts to 19 N.m (14 ft-lbs) torque.
(4) Remove the transmission support.
(5) Lower the vehicle.
(6) Connect the battery negative cable.
