Exhaust Manifold: Service and Repair

1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove all components attached to the intake manifold refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD.
3.
Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold.
4.
Remove bolts 2-5 then the intake manifold.
5.
Remove bolts 1, 6 and 7 then the exhaust manifold.
6.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a.
Install exhaust manifold and torque No. 1 bolt to 30 ft. lbs.
b.
Install intake manifold and torque bolts 2-5 to 23 ft. lbs.
c.
Torque bolts 6 and 7 to 23 ft. lbs.
d.
Torque exhaust pipe stud nuts to 23 ft. lbs.
