Shift Interlock Cable: Adjustments

1.

Shift transmission into Park, then turn ignition switch to Lock position.

Remove shift lever bezel and console screws and raise bezel and console for access to cable.

3.

Pull cable lock button up to release cable, Fig. 27, then pull cable forward. Release cable and press cable lock button down until it snaps in place.

4.

Check movement of release shift handle button or shift release lever. No movement should be possible until ignition is in On position. Place shift
lever into Neutral position. If adjustment is correct you should not be able to put ignition into Lock position when transmission shift lever is in
Neutral or Drive. With transmission in Park position, Ignition should turn freely.
