Valve Guide: Service and Repair
The valve guides are an integral part of the cylinder head. If valve stem to guide clearance is excessive, the guide should be reamed to the next oversize
and the appropriate oversized valve installed. Valves are available in .003 and .015 inch oversizes for 2.5L/4-150 engines, .0035, .0155, and .003 inch
oversize for 4.0L/6-243 engines. For 1989-92 with 4.0L/6-243, .015 and .030 oversizes are also available.
