Drive Belt: Service and Repair

1.
Disconnect battery negative cable.
2.
Loosen idler pulley rear mounting bolts, pivot bolt and locknut.
3.
Loosen idler puller adjusting bolt and remove drive belt.
4.
Route new drive belt as shown in Figs. 25 and 26.
5.
Tighten idler pulley adjusting bolt until proper belt tension is achieved. Refer to Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive
Belt/Specifications for specifications.
6.
Torque rear mounting bolt, pivot bolt and locknut to 20 ft.lbs.
7.
Connect battery negative cable.
