Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair
Heated Oxygen Sensor Location
1.
Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connector, and remove the oxygen sensor.
2.
After removal, clean the threads in the exhaust using an 18 mm X 1.5 X 6E tap.
3.
If reinstalling the same sensor, apply a suitable anti-seize compound (Loctite Pt. No. 771-64 or equivalent) to the threads of the sensor. New
sensors are packaged with an anti-seize compound already applied to the threads and no further application is needed.
4.
When installing the sensor, torque to 22 lbs. ft. (30 N-m).
5.
Connect the oxygen sensor electrical connector to the harness connector.
