DISCUSSION:
Some of the listed Cherokee 4-door models, may have seat retractors that appear to be sluggish or slow to rewind the seat belt due to the belt support
guide contacting the B-Pillar trim. This condition can be corrected by installing a washer under the belt support/guide anchor bolt (Figure 1).

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This repair involves spacing the support/guide, located on the B-Pillar, away from the trim panel.
1.
Remove the cap concealing the support/guide anchor bolt.
2.
Remove the support/guide anchor bolt.
3.
Install the new support/guide anchor bolt (6034394) and washer (J4007315).
Tighten the bolt to 37 N-m (27 ft.lbs.) torque.
4.
Install the support/guide anchor bolt cap.
