Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance between overslam bumper and "C" or "D" pillar (Figure 3) on both sides of vehicle, and record
the clearance.

Open liftgate and remove existing overslam bumpers and shims.

Remove interior quarter trim panels on both sides of vehicle. Take note of any wiring harnesses located behind trim panels.
6.
Tape the template, which is included in the parts package, to the "C" ("D") pillar. Center punch hole as indicated (Figure 4) and remove
template. Repeat on other side of vehicle.
7.
Before drilling, be sure that any wiring harnesses are moved from area where holes are being drilled. Using a letter size 0 (.316") drill bit,
drill holes at center punch marks.
8.
Spray drilled holes with anti-rust compound PN J8993799 or equivalent.
