Check the area around the accelerator cable (5) for interference with the insulation. Cut away any insulation that contacts the
cable. Check for any vacuum lines or wiring harnesses interfering with the cable. Use tie straps to secure them away from the
cable. Take care not to pinch any vacuum hoses.

In the engine compartment at the side of the intake manifold, disconnect accelerator cable clasp (8) from bell crank (9) using a
long flat screwdriver.
