Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal arm (2) by squeezing the tabs at the rear of the clip and pushing the cable
through. Remove accelerator pedal mounting nuts (4).
Remove the accelerator pedal assembly from the vehicle.

Grasp accelerator pedal arm (2) with one hand and pedal hinge (6) with the other.

Lift up pedal hinge (6) and let it drop. The hinge should immediately drop. If it does not, check pedal hinge pin (7) for interference.

Check the area around the accelerator cable (5) for interference with the insulation. Cut away any insulation that contacts the
cable. Check for any vacuum lines or wiring harnesses interfering with the cable. Use tie straps to secure them away from the
cable. Take care not to pinch any vacuum hoses.
