Disconnect the exhaust downpipe from the exhaust manifold (Figure 3). Loosen the clamp securing the exhaust downpipe to the support bracket
which is attached to the bellhousing. Discard the seal.

Remove the oxygen sensor from the edhaust manifold.

Lower the vehicle.
19.
Remove the intake manifold/exhaust manifold assembly and remove the EGR tube. Separate the intake and exhaust manifolds.
20.
Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and intake manifold.
21.
Install the supplied exhaust/intake manifold gasket over the alignment dowels on the cylinder head.
22.
On the bench, loosely install the EGR tube between the intake and exhaust manifolds.
23.
Using the provided washers, loosely install the exhaust manifold/intake manifold assembly over the alignment dowels and outboard studs.

Tighten fasteners in sequence shown. Tighten outboard nuts # 6 and # 7 to 17 ft-lbs (23 N-m). Tighten all other manifold bolts to 23 ft-lbs (31
N-m) torque (Figure 4).

Tighten nuts # 12 and # 13 (EGR tube) to 30 Ft.lbs (41 N-m) torque.

Install the intake manifold heat shield.
27.
Inspect the fuel injector 0-rings and replace as necessary. Install the fuel rail and injectors.
28.
Install the power steering pump and bracket to the intake manifold. Using the adjusting bolt, tighten the serpentine drive belt to 150 lbs-f (668 N).
Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts to 20 ft.lbs (27 N-m).
