service will be provided free of charge.
The needed instructions have been sent to all Jeep/Eagle dealers in California. The service will not hurt your engine performance or fuel economy. Your
dealer is ready to serve you now. To obtain this service:

Contact your dealer as soon as possible to make an appointment for the free service.

Take the enclosed Owner Recall Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form identifies
the vehicle and recall for which service is required.

The dealer will replace the oxygen sensor. In addition, the exhaust manifold will be inspected for cracks and replaced as required. The service
will take about three hours, but additional time may be required depending on how service work is scheduled and processed.
The State of California requires that every vehicle must pass an emission test every two years and before it is sold. Without the free service we are
providing, your vehicle may be more likely to fail this test and require that you make costly repairs.
We regret any inconvenience this action may cause, but trust you understand our interest in clean air and in your continued satisfaction with our
products. If you experience any difficulty in obtaining the corrective service, please contact the Chrysler Zone Office in your area (shown on the
enclosed listing). The Zone Office will take the necessary action to ensure prompt correction of your vehicle.

This recall service requirement applies only to 1987 Model Year Jeep
Comanche, Cherokee and Wagoneer vehicles equipped with a 4.OL engine and California emission control system.

The oxygen sensor must be changed on all involved vehicles.

Exhaust manifolds must be inspected for cracks and replaced as needed.

Non-California dealers will also receive copies of these recall instructions by ComPak Mail. Some involved vehicles may have been relocated
outside of California and the instructions will allow dealers to perform this service on such vehicles upon request. Non-California dealers must
order the necessary parts as needed.
