the right while lowering to prevent loss of fuel through the hoses. Do riot allow the hose openings to drop lower than the top of the tank.
14.
Drain all of the remaining fuel from the tank using an approved fuel removal and storage station.

Remove the fuel pump module from the tank.
16.
Place the tank on end with the fuel filler facing down. This will allow the anti-siphon check ball to move down into the filler inlet allowing access
to install the spring.
17.
Take the new spring, p/n 05014530AA, and compress it between your thumb and forefinger as shown in Figure 1. Install the spring by reaching
through the fuel pump module opening and inserting the spring as shown and turning it 90 degrees and releasing it. The spring must be positioned
as shown in Figure 2. If the spring is not positioned as shown, remove it and insert it again to assure the correct position.
18.
Install the fuel pump module using a new gasket and tighten the locknut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs).
19.
Install the fuel tank by reversing the procedures used to remove it, including new fuel tank strap nuts.
Torque Specifications:
Fuel Hose Clamps
3 Nm (25 in. lbs.)
Fuel Tank Mounting Straps
10 Nm (90 in. lbs)
Fuel Pump Module Locknut
75 Nm (55 ft. lbs)
NOTE:
ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH DIESEL ENGINES, THE FUEL SYSTEM WILL REQUIRE BLEEDING AT THE INJECTOR PUMP.
REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE SERVICE MANUAL FOR THIS PROCEDURE.
