14. Disconnect the exhaust downpipe from the exhaust manifold Fig. 17. Discard the seal.

15. Disconnect the oxygen (O2) sensor wire connector Fig. 18.
16. Remove the oxygen (02) sensor from the exhaust manifold if a replacement manifold is to be installed or the sensor is defective.
17. Lower the vehicle.

18. Remove the intake manifold/exhaust manifold EGR tube assembly mounting bolts.

Remove the EGR tube and separate the exhaust and intake manifolds.
Cleaning and Inspection

Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder bead and the manifold if the original manifold is to be installed.

If the manifold is being replaced, ensure all the fittings, etc. are transferred to the replacement manifold.
