11. Install the alternator bracket bolt on the head. Install the alternator belt and adjust the tension.
12. Install the power steering bracket and pump. Adjust the belt tension.
13. Install the push rods in the order removed.
14. Install the rocker arms and the bridge and pivot assemblies in the order removed. Loosely install the capscrews for each bridge and tighten
alternately, one turn at a time, to avoid damaging the bridge. Tighten the capscrews to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.) torque.
15. Install the cylinder head cover.
a. lean the cover and cylinder head sealing surface using a clean dry cloth.
b. Install the cover and retaining bolts. Tighten the retaining bolts to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.) torque.
c. Install the cruise control servo (if removed).
d. Install the PCV molded hoses to the cylinder head cover.
16. Connect the hoses to the thermostat housing and fill the cooling system to the specified level. Refer to Cooling Systems/Service and Repair for
the proper procedure.

17. The automatic transmission throttle linkage and cable must be adjusted after completing the cylinder head installation.
18. Install the temperature sending unit and connect the wire connector.
19. Connect the fuel pipe and vacuum advance hose.
WARNING: Use extreme caution when the engine is operating. DO NOT stand in direct line with the fan. DO NOT put hands near the pulleys,
belts, or fan. DO NOT wear loose clothing.
20. Operate the engine with the radiator cap off. Inspect for leaks and continue operating the engine until the thermostat opens. Add coolant if
required.
21. Install the air cleaner.
