Cherokee 4WD L6-242 4.0L VIN M FI (1988)
1. Remove the evaporator/blower housing as described in this section.
2. Remove the top housing retaining screws and remove the top of the evaporator housing.
3. Remove the thermostatic switch and capillary tube after removing the top of the evaporator housing.
4. Remove the 2 evaporator retaining screws and lift the evaporator out of the housing.
5. Remove the expansion valve from the evaporator.
6. To install the evaporator core, reverse the removal procedures.
7. Add 1 ounce of refrigerant oil to the air conditioning system when replacing the evaporator.
