Throttle Body Replacement
Throttle Body
REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect the negative battery cable, and the air cleaner snorkel from the throttle body.
2.
Disconnect the idle speed stepper motor and the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) wire connectors.
3.
Disconnect the Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor vacuum tube from the back of the throttle body, and disconnect the throttle linkage at the
throttle arm.
4.
On automatic transmission vehicles, disconnect the transmission line pressure cable at the throttle arm.
5.
Remove the throttle body mounting bolts, lift the throttle body off of the manifold, and discard the old gasket.
INSTALLATION
1.
Clean the intake manifold, and throttle body mounting surfaces, and install the throttle body with a new gasket. Install the throttle body mounting
bolts, and torque to 30 Nm (23 lb-ft)
2.
Connect the MAP sensor vacuum hose to the throttle body. Connect the idle speed stepper motor and the TPS wire connectors.
3.
Connect the automatic transmission line pressure cable, and the throttle cable to the throttle arm, refer to Transmission and
Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Adjustments to reset the line pressure cable.
4.
Reinstall the air cleaner snorkel, and reconnect the negative battery cable.
