SEALING - WATER LEAK

Information
Some 1982-83 CJ and Scrambler models may develop water leaks at various underbody panel seams and hole plugs.
To eliminate leaks at these areas, perform the sealing operations outlined in the following procedure.

PROCEDURE
1.
Steam clean the underside of the vehicle body thoroughly including the rear wheelhouses.
2.
Insert the Touch and Foam nozzle into the two floorpan holes indicated in Fig. 1. Spray foam into this floorpan area until filled. Do both sides of
the vehicle.
3.
Seal the wheelhouse and floorpan seams indicated in Fig. 1 with AMC/Jeep RTV Silicone Sealant, G.E. RTV Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant,
or an equivalent silicone sealer. Do both wheelhouse areas of the vehicle.
NOTE:
Cut the sealer container nozzle to obtain the desired bead width and apply the sealer with a cartridge-type caulking gun.
