Hydraulic Clutch Supplemental Service Procedure

DISCUSSION:
If a clutch hydraulic slave cylinder needs to be replaced, a new transmission input shaft seal must be installed. The hydraulic fluid from the clutch
hydraulic slave cylinder is not compatible with the input shaft seal.
A revised clutch hydraulic slave cylinder with an improved seal is now available and can be identified by a black piston retention strap.
DIAGNOSIS:
When replacing the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder for leakage, also replace the transmission input shaft seal. Inspect the clutch disc and pressure plate
for contamination, and replace as necessary.
