Raise the vehicle.

Route the cable down to the transmission/ transfer case:
a.
Allow a free flowing curve where the speedometer cable exits the dash panel. Secure loosely to the brake lines (B) at the
point where they bend toward the rear of the vehicle with tie straps, P/N 322 3227, (Fig. 2).

Route the cable along the brake lines to the transmission /transfer case and secure it to the brake lines with tie strap, (C),
P/N 322 3227, positioned on the steel sleeve (D) on the cable (Fig. 3).
CAUTION: Do not use the speedometer cable clamp (A) to secure the cable to the frame sill (Fig. 3). Be sure that the
speedometer cable is routed so that it does not contact the steering shaft or the exhaust manifold of models
equipped with V-6 engines.
