While raising and tilting the steering gear into position, slip the opposite end of the intermediate shaft (P) over the steering gear shaft (Q). Install
collar bolt into hole (R), finger tight.
NOTE:
Be sure the "flat" on the intermediate shaft is aligned to the "flat" (S) on the steering gear. Also be sure collar bolt has been aligned to the
machined "groove" (X).
6.
Fold splash shield (M) back to its original position.
7.
Tighten the two intermediate shaft collar bolts to 45 N-m (33 ft.lbs.)
