Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Front Coil Spring Replace
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel, then position a suitable jack under axle.
3. Scribe alignment marks, then disconnect front propeller shaft from axle.
4. Disconnect lower control arm, stabilizer bar link and shock absorber from axle, then the track bar from side sill.
5. Disconnect center steering link from pitman arm.
6. Carefully lower axle assembly, then loosen spring retainer attaching nut and remove coil spring from vehicle.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Torque lower control arm retaining bolts and nuts to 133 ft. lbs., stabilizer bar link attaching nut to 70 ft. lbs., track
bar to side sill retaining bolt to 35 ft. lbs. and center steering link to pitman arm retaining nut to 35 ft. lbs.
