ROUGH IDLE CONDITION
If a 1986 Cherokee, Wagoneer, or Comanche vehicle equipped with 4-Cyl. engine has a rough idle condition, one possible cause may be an air leak at
the rubber vacuum tube seal assembly located at the rear of the throttle body.
Service correction for this condition involves replacing the rubber vacuum tube seal assembly with individual vacuum hoses.
Vacuum Tube Assembly
PROCEDURE
1.
Loosen the vacuum tube assembly (A) from the intake manifold and move it toward the cylinder head cover to allow the vacuum tube seal
assembly (B) to be disconnected from the throttle body.
2.
Grasp the rubber vacuum tube seal assembly
(B)
and disconnect it from the throttle body.
3.
Remove the rubber vacuum tube seal assembly (B) from the vacuum tube assembly (A). Discard the seal assembly.
