Parking Lock Cable: Adjustments
PARK LOCK CABLE ADJUSTMENT
Park Lock Cable Adjustment
1. Lift and release tab (1).
2. Insert cable eyelet (2) into bellcrank (3) and secure eyelet with clevis pin and spring clip (4).
3. Push cable adjuster (5) forward and lower it into attaching bracket until tabs are fully engaged in adjuster.
4. Push locking tab (1) downward to lock it.
5. Check cable adjustment as follows:

Turn ignition key to LOCK position and try to press shift handle button inward. Button should not move when pressed.

Turn ignition key to ON position, press shift handle button inward and move shift lever to Drive or Neutral. Then, try to turn ignition key to
LOCK position. Correct cable adjustment will prevent turning key to Lock position.

Move shift lever to Park position. The key should now be able to move into the Lock position.

If cable readjustment is required, lift and release locking tab (1) and slide the spring loaded cable adjuster (5) forward or rearward to obtain
proper adjustment.
