Transmission Shift Control Cable Attachment

6. With the valve body manual lever in the rearward park detent position. snap the cable into the lower reaction bracket.

7. Lock the cable by pressing T-shaped cable adjuster clamp downward until clamp snaps into place.

8. Move the gearshift lever to the Park and Neutral positions and check the engine starting. The engine should start in these positions only. The

engine must not start in any gear position other than Park or Neutral. If the engine does not start, or if it starts in R, D, 2, or 1, the adjustment is
incorrect or the neutral switch is defective.

9. Lower the vehicle.
