Normal working pressure is 1650-2050 psi, care must be taken when pumping system down, loosening and/or disconnecting any pressure lines.
1.
With ignition in Off position, apply brakes 45-50 times to reduce system fluid pressure.
2.
Disconnect negative battery cable then remove coolant pressure bottle retaining strap and move reservoir aside.
3.
Remove mounting bracket attaching bolts then rotate bracket and pump to one side to gain access to wires and hoses.
4.
Disconnect pump harness from engine harness then slowly loosen pressure line from pump. Allow residual pressure to bleed off before
pressure line is completely removed.
5.
Position drain pan under pump return line. Loosen return line clamp and remove return line from pump. Discard used fluid.
6.
Remove pump/motor and bracket assembly.
7.
Remove relay and pump/motor attaching bolts then separate components from bracket.
8.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a.
Use only new Mopar brake fluid or equivalent having an SAE J1703 or DOT 3 rating.
b.
Do not over fill.
c.
Do not allow pump to run if it does not pressurize. If pump RPM does not drop after 20 seconds of run time, turn ignition switch off
immediately to avoid pump damage. Ensure all connections are correct.
