Air Register: Service and Repair
Air Outlet - Removal
Front
REMOVAL
WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or
service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable. Wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge
before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper
precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.
NOTE: Take the proper precautions to protect the front face of the instrument panel bezel from cosmetic damage while performing this
procedure.
1. Remove the instrument panel bezel from the instrument panel and place the bezel on a workbench See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /
Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and Repair/Instrument Panel Bezel - Removal.
2. Using Trim Stick C-4755 (1) or equivalent, release the three retaining clips (2) that secure each instrument panel air outlet (3) to the instrument
panel bezel (4) and remove the air outlets as necessary.
Rear
REMOVAL
1. Using Trim Stick C-4755 (1) or equivalent, gently pry between the top of the upper rear air outlet bezel (2) and the quarter interior trim panel (3)
to release the retainer clips that secure the top of the bezel to the trim panel.
2. Roll the top of the upper rear air outlet bezel downward to disengage the retainer clips that secure the bottom of the bezel to the trim panel and
