Fluid Line/Hose: Removal and Replacement
Removal
TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the grille. See: Body and Frame/Grille/Service and Repair/Grille - Removal
3. Drain the coolant from the radiator.
4. Remove the cooling fan and shroud.See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Radiator Cooling Fan/Service and Repair/Removal and
Replacement/Cooling Fan - Removal
5. Remove the air intake duct/air horn inlet located near the passenger side headlamp.
6. Disconnect the transmission cooler lines at the transmission oil cooler.See: Procedures/Transmission Cooler Line Quick Connect Fitting
Disassembly/Assembly
7. Position the transmission cooler lines into the engine compartment.
8. Raise and support the vehicle.
9. Remove the lower skid plate/splash shield.
10. Disconnect the O2 sensors from the catalytic converter.
11. Disconnect the transmission cooler lines (2) at transmission (1).See: Procedures/Transmission Cooler Line Quick Connect Fitting
Disassembly/Assembly
12. Remove the transmission cooler line retainer at the oil pan.
13. 4x4 equipped models, support front axle.
14. 4x4 equipped models, remove the front axle vent hose at the axle.
15. 4x4 equipped models, remove the front axle retaining bolt on the right side.
16. 4x4 equipped models, remove the front axle front mount retaining bolts.
17. 4x4 equipped models, lower the front axle.
18. Remove the transmission cooler lines from the vehicle.
