2007-2010 (XK) Jeep(R) Commander
NOTE:
This notification applies only to the above vehicles without a sunroof built from November 20, 2006 through March 10, 2010 (MDH 112006 through
031011).
IMPORTANT:
Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer vehicle inventory. Dealers should complete this repair on these vehicles before retail delivery.
Dealers should also perform this repair on vehicles in for service. Involved vehicles can be determined by using the VIP inquiry process.
Subject
The Side Airbag Inflatable Curtain (SABIC) on about 47,600 of the above vehicles may not position properly during inflation. This may result in the
SABIC deploying behind the upper "B" pillar trim.
Repair
All involved vehicles must have a "B" pillar trim bracket and foam block installed behind the "B" pillar trim panel on both sides of the vehicle.
Parts Information
No parts will be distributed initially. Dealers should order the bracket package for each vehicle at the time appointments are scheduled to assure that the
part is available when the customer arrives.
Special Tools
No special tools are required to perform this repair.
Completion Reporting and Reimbursement
Claims for vehicles that have been serviced must be submitted on the
DealerCONNECT Claim Entry Screen located on the Service tab. Claims
submitted will be used by Chrysler to record Customer Satisfaction Notification service completions and provide dealer payments.
