Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair
Rear Suspension Coil Spring(s) - Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Install the upper isolator on the spring seat on body.
2. Install the lower isolator (3) on the axle bracket.
3. Pull down on the axle and position the coil spring (1), ID tag end up, over the upper perch, then lower it onto the lower perch.
4. Raise the axle with the hydraulic jack.
5. Install the shock absorber (2) to the axle bracket and tighten the bolt to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.).
6. If the left spring is being serviced, install the previously removed fuel tank skid plate bolt and tighten to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the stabilizer bar link to the body rail and tighten the bolt to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the wheel and tire assembly, See: Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement.
9. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
