6. Inspect the accelerator pedal date code.
UNDERSTANDING THE DATE CODE: The first two digits are the year
(06 = 2006). The next three digits are the day of the year it was built
(068 = the 68th day). Disregard the last three digits of the date code. For example, the date code on the pedal assembly in Figure 3 is 06068828. The first
two digits are 06 (built in 2006), the next three digits are 068
(the 68th day). Ignore the last three digits.

If the date code is 06059xxx or lower or it is 06095xxx or higher, the accelerator pedal does not require replacement. Continue with Step 7 of this
procedure.

If the date code is 06060 through 06094, replace the accelerator pedal.
