SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Door opening or closing efforts are high due to improperly adjusted or damaged door latch mechanism.
DIAGNOSIS:
Figure 2, Latch And Striker
Inspect the door latch. See Figure 2 for proper alignment of the striker to the latch.
Inspect the latch for signs of damage to the plastic coating on the latch mechanism. If damage is present, replace the latch and perform the striker
adjustment procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves inspecting the latch mechanism for damage and replacing the latch if necessary and adjusting the striker.

Replace the latch if any damage is present.

Slowly close the door until the striker loop contacts the latch (See Figure 1). Mark the location where the rearward side of the latch rachet contacts
the striker loop. Open the door and measure the clearance as shown in Figure 1. The clearance should be from 8 to 10 mm. (5/16 to 3/8 in.). If the
