Inspect the brake pedal to master cylinder input rod retainer clip for proper installation.

If the clip is properly installed (i.e. anti-rattle fingers over the steel washer and clip locking finger over the end of the pin), no further action is
necessary.
3.
If the clip is not properly installed, remove and discard the clip. Install a new clip (PN 4294036) making sure the anti-rattle fingers are above the
steel washer and the locking finger is over the end of the pin.

SAFETY RECALL -- BRAKE PEDAL CLIP
Dear Chrysler Corporation Vehicle Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Chrysler Corporation has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in some 1993 model Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand
Wagoneer vehicles. The retainer clip that attaches the brake master cylinder input rod to the brake pedal may not be properly installed.
If the clip does disengage, it may allow the input rod to separate from the brake pedal. This will cause the brake pedal to not engage the brakes when
applied, and could result in an accident without prior warning.
Your vehicle, identified on the enclosed form, is affected. For this reason we ask that you arrange for service to correct the condition without delay. The
service and required parts as described in this letter will be provided free of charge.
To correct the condition, your dealer will inspect the retainer clip installation and replace the clip if it is not properly installed. The work will take about
one half hour to complete. However, additional time may be required depending on how dealer appointments are scheduled and processed. To obtain this

Take the enclosed Owner Recall Notification Form with you at the time of your appointment and give it to your dealer. The form identifies the
vehicle and the service that is required.
If you have any problem obtaining the needed repair, please contact the Chrysler Zone Service Office in your area. (It is listed under "Service
Assistance" in your Owner's Manual.) A Zone representative will arrange for prompt attention to your vehicle.
