SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles may exhibit a squeak from the rear of the vehicle which may be caused by interference between the spring and the spring seat on the rear
axle.

Spring Sleeves

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves installing a plastic sleeve around the bottom coil of the rear spring to isolate the spring from the axle seat.
1.
Remove the rear coil springs as outlined in the appropriate service manual.
2.
Compress the sleeve to enlarge the inside diameter and slide it around the bottom coil of the spring until the end of the sleeve is flush with the end
of the spring coil.
3.
Install the springs following the service manual procedure. Make sure that the end of the coil is tight against the stop on the axle seat before you
tighten the spring retainer clamp.
