SUBJECT:
Automatic Temperature Control - Temperature and Blower Speed Variations
MODELS:
1993 (ZJ) Grand Cherokee/Grand Wagoneer
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles may exhibit outlet air temperature and blower speed variations. This condition may be caused by the air aspirator hose either being
disconnected or blocked. The aspirator hose draws air from the passenger compartment to allow the in-car temperature sensor to function.
DIAGNOSIS:
Check the operation of the aspirator hose and fan by operating the system in the panel air mode, with the fan on high and in RECIRC. Place a 2-1/2 by
2-1/2 inch square of tissue paper over the aspirator grille next to the glove box. The tissue paper should cling to the grille. If the tissue does not cling to
the grille, proceed to the repair procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves checking the air aspirator hose for routing and retention and installing a clamp to the hose at the heater and A/C housing.
1.
Inspect the aspirator hose routing making sure that the hose is not pinched or kinked. The hose is connected to the heating and A/C housing, just
above the carpeting on the right side of the transmission tunnel. The hose should be long enough to reach the nipple, if it is routed correctly.
2.
Install the hose on the nipple using the clamp P/N 153457.
