Clutch Slave Cylinder: Service and Repair
Hydraulic Linkage
Removal
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove nuts attaching slave cylinder to clutch housing.
2. Remove slave cylinder and clip from housing.
4. Disengage hydraulic fluid line from body clips, then lower vehicle.
5. Remove retaining ring, flat washer and wave washer which attach clutch master cylinder pushrod to the clutch pedal.
6. Slide clutch master cylinder pushrod off of clutch pedal pin, then remove bushing, if necessary.
7. Tighten clutch master cylinder reservoir cap. Remove bolts attaching fluid reservoir to dash panel.
8. Remove screws attaching clutch master cylinder to stud nuts.
9. Remove both clutch cylinders, reservoir and connecting lines from vehicle.
Installation
1. Position cylinders, connecting lines and reservoir in vehicle.
2. Install clutch master cylinder on mounting studs extending through dash panel. Tighten attaching nuts to specifications.
3. Position reservoir on dash panel and install reservoir screws.
4. Install replacement bushing on clutch pedal pin, if removed during removal procedure.
5. Install clutch master cylinder pushrod on clutch pedal pin. Secure rod with wave washer, flat washer and retainer ring.
6. Raise and support vehicle.
7. Insert slave cylinder pushrod through clutch housing opening and into release lever. Ensure cap on end of rod is securely engaged in lever.
8. Install and tighten slave cylinder attaching nuts to specifications.
9. Insert clutch fluid line in body clips and lower vehicle.
