Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
Removal

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative cable from battery.
2. Remove the accessory drive belt. See: Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Accessory Drive Belt -

3. Remove A/C compressor mounting fasteners and set the compressor aside. See: Heating and Air Conditioning/Compressor HVAC/Service and

4. Drain the cooling system. See: Cooling System/Service and Repair
5. Remove the upper radiator hose.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector for fan mounted inside radiator shroud.
7. Remove the radiator cooling fan. See: Cooling System/Radiator Cooling Fan/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Radiator Fan -

Removal

8. Remove crankshaft damper bolt.
9. Remove damper using Crankshaft Insert 8513 (1) and Three Jaw Puller 1026 (2).

10. Using the Seal Remover 8511 (1), remove crankshaft front seal.
