Door and Latch Operation

MODELS:

1993 - 1994 (ZJ) Grand Cherokee/Grand Wagoneer

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Door lock or latch inoperative. See specific details below.

DIAGNOSIS:

If any of the locks or door latches do not work, check the symptoms listed below and perform the repairs indicated.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves performing adjustments to the door latch and lock mechanism.

CONDITION 1:
The left front power door lock switch or keyless remote will not unlock any of the remaining side doors. If this condition exists, one or more of the
following procedures will be required:

A.

Outside Handle-to-Latch Rod Adjustment. This should be attempted prior to procedure B-1 below.

Locate access hole and observe the position of the adjustment screw within the slot in the outside release lever (Figure 1).
