Wind Noise at Lower Windshield Corners
THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER 23-69-94 WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR
FILES. THE CHANGES ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH ASTERISKS. THE REVISIONS INVOLVE A CORRECTED PART NUMBER FOR KENT
INDUSTRIES EXPANDABLE FOAM AND A REVISED LABOR OPERATION NUMBER.
MODELS:
1993 - 1994 (ZJ) Grand Cherokee/Grand Wagoneer
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Wind noise at the lower corners of the windshield.
DIAGNOSIS:
Road test the vehicle at highway speeds. If the noise is present, inspect the windshield for any sealer gaps. If no gaps are found, perform the repair
procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
** AR
NPN Aerosol foam sealer such as Great Stuff or Kent Industries - 10601 Urefoam Expandable Foam **
AR
NPN Clear Plastic tubing (18 in.) of a suitable size to fit the nozzle on the sealer applicator.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This bulletin involves filling the corners of the inner cowl with foam sealer.
1.
Remove the wiper arms.
2.
Remove the cowl screen.
3.
Install 18 inches of clear plastic tubing to the nozzle on the foam applicator. Insert the tubing through the access hole shown in the illustration.
Inject foam into the corner of the inner cowl until the foam is visible through the access hole.
