Brake Pad: Service and Repair
Removal
FRONT
1. Unfasten caliper as outlined under Brake Caliper/Service and Repair.
NOTE: It is not necessary to disconnect brake hose from caliper. Support caliper at all times to prevent brake hose damage.
2. Remove outboard brake pad from anchor plate while holding anti-rattle clip.
3. Remove inboard brake pad and anti-rattle clip or retaining spring.
4. Clean caliper interior using clean shop cloths. Do not use compressed air, as damage to dust boot may result.
REAR
1. Unfasten caliper as outlined under Brake Caliper/Service and Repair.
NOTE: It is not necessary to disconnect brake hose from caliper. Support caliper at all times to prevent brake hose damage.
2. Remove outboard pad by pressing one corner of pad inward and prying upward with a suitable tool.
3. Remove inboard brake pad and anti-rattle clip or retaining spring.
4. Clean caliper interior using clean shop cloths. Do not use compressed air, as damage to dust boot may result.
