Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair
WARNING: The fuel system is under constant pressure, even with the engine off. This pressure must be released before servicing any
fuel-related component.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove fuel tank filler cap to release fuel tank pressure.
3. Remove protective cap from pressure test port on fuel rail.
4. Obtain fuel pressure test hose No. 0.069, or equivalent.
5. Place gauge end of hose (with gauge removed) into approved gasoline container.
6. Place shop towel under test port.
7. To release fuel pressure, screw other end of hose onto fuel pressure test port.
8. After fuel pressure has been released, remove hose and install protective cap on test port.
