Shift Indicator: Testing and Inspection
If the Upshift, Brake, Check Anti-lock & Check Engine Indicator are all inoperative, check for an open in IGN line to cluster connector terminal C12. If
C12 has battery voltage continue with diagnosis.
1. Check upshift indicator as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch to Run position, ground instrument cluster connector pin C8, lamp should light. If not replace bulb.
b. If satisfactory, turn key to Off position, check for continuity between connector pin C8 and pin 54 of PCM. If satisfactory replace PCM, if not
repair open.
