REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves installing shims between the wheel and the brake rotor.

1.

Remove the right front wheel.

2.

Remove the brake caliper from the mount.

3.

Remove the rotor retainers.

4.

Remove the rotor.

5.

Remove the hub as outlined in the Service Manual and press the original wheel studs out of the hub.

CAUTION:

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE WHEEL STUDS WHILE THE HUB IS INSTALLED ON THE SPINDLE OR BEARING DAMAGE
WILL RESULT.

6.

Press the 5 new wheel studs supplied in the package into the hub.

7.

Install the hub to the steering knuckle.

8.

Install rotor and caliper assembly.

9.

Install the .200" shim (supplied in the kit) onto the hub. Install the shim around the hub with the marked side out and install two of the rotor
retainers (supplied in the kit) over the studs to retain the shim.

10.

Install the wheel and partially tighten all of the lug nuts following the pattern outlined in the Service Manual. Tighten the lug nuts to 88 ft.lbs. (120
Nm).

11.

Road test the vehicle again as described above. If the condition is corrected, the repair is complete. If the vehicle still moves to the left, a larger
shim is required. If the vehicle now moves to the right, the shim is too large and a smaller one is required. Select either the .150" or .250" shim
depending on the direction the vehicle moved and repeat the procedure stated in steps 9 and 10 substituting the shim selected.

12.

Road test the vehicle again to determine if the process has corrected the condition or if another shim is required.

CAUTION:

DO NOT USE MORE THAN ONE SHIM ON A VEHICLE OR SPACE THE WHEEL MORE THAN .300" AWAY FROM THE ROTOR.

CAUTION:

DO NOT PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE FOR ANY CONDITIONS OTHER THAN THE ONE DISCUSSED ABOVE. DO NOT INSTALL
THESE SHIMS ON THE REAR OR LEFT SIDE OF A VEHICLE.
