Remove and discard the tie strap that connects the rear axle vent hose to the fuel tank vent hose (Figure 10).

Remove the rear axle vent hose clip from the fuel tank shield.

Loosen the fuel filler hose and vent hose clamps near the body. Disconnect the filler and vent hoses from the filler tube and vent tube (Figure 10).

Support the fuel tank and shield assembly with a transmission jack.

Remove the fuel tank-to-frame mounting bolts (Figure 11).

Carefully, lower the fuel tank until it is clear of the vehicle. Place the tank on the floor.

Remove the fuel filler and vent hoses from the fuel tank.
33.
Thoroughly wash and clean the area around the fuel pump module.
