6. Remove the pinion gear from housing (Fig. 44). Catch the pinion with your hand to prevent it from falling and being damaged.

7. Use Remover 7794-A and slide hammer to remove the pinion shaft seal (Fig. 45).
8. Remove oil slinger, if equipped, and front pinion bearing.
