Growl-Like Sound From A/C Compressor Due To Expansion Valve
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves the installation of a revised air conditioning expansion valve.

2005
(WK)
Grand Cherokee
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built prior to November 15, 2004 (MDH 1115XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience a growl-like sound coming from the air conditioning compressor. The growl sound will occur only when the air
conditioning compressor is engaged and is most noticeable during the start and end of a compressor run cycle. The growl-like sound may diminish or not
be present at all during the 'middle" of a compressor on cycle.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the above symptom/condition is present perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Replace the A/C expansion valve. For detailed service information refer to DealerCONNECT and the SERVICE INFO tab, then to 24 -
